American Idol: Who will be the next?

The seventh season of American Idol is about to end; just two episodes left and the new Idol will be pronounced. Nobody expected that Syesha Mercado will compete up to the final 3; indeed the black American is the black horse for this year’s competition. From the very beginning, I always say that it will be a david vs. david finale, but after I’ve watched the top 3 episode, I am now in doubt who will be in AI’s finale; will it be still David vs David, David A vs. Syesha or David C. vs. Syesha? If we analyze the episode, all of them showed and proved to the world that they deserved to be in the finale or to be the next idol. But of course, the decision is up to the American voters. Through the whole episodes of this season, only Cook was not in the bottom 3; Archuleta, several times; Mercado, always. But, remember, Syesha was able to defeat this season’s favourites like Michael Johns, Carly Smithson, and Jason Castro. We don’t know now how really big is the voting capability of Syesha’s fans; If we analyze again, Syesha is the only woman left in the competition and she is the only black left in the competition. Definitely a dark horse! David Archuleta is a magnate for teenagers and American-Hispanics, Archuleta’s cards that I could see that will give him the title. David Cook; no need to become the Idol, it is just a plus if he will win the competition. His rendition of “You will always be a baby” is a now hit. He’s famous already; He will be like Chris Daughtry if he will become a runner up. He will ( I think) outshine this year’s winner….I bet. The question is, will this year’s winner have a staying power for the next three or four years like Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood, or will he/she become another flop idol like Reuben Studdard and Taylor Hicks? We’ll find out very soon!

Neither will reach Carrie Underwood status. Little Mormon freak David will totally and completely bomb outside of Utah. David Cook will have a solid career but not quite like Underwoods.
